Role Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fire & Security Engineer to join an expanding mobile contract, covering London and surrounding areas. The company provides continued training and development for engineers, with a focus on system maintenance, reactive and small works for CCTV, access control, security systems, and automatic fire.
Role Duties / Responsibilities / Accountabilities / Deliverables:
- Provide planned preventive maintenance, system repair, small works, and system commissioning in accordance with site/client requirements.
- Prepare dilapidation reports for newly acquired contracts and recommend improvements, additions, or reductions.
- Provide design, support, and quotation delivery in line with relevant British Standards.
- Maintain a strong working relationship and communication with the client and the company.
- Ensure policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Maintain service portfolios to the highest standards to satisfy external quality verification requirements.
- Comply with health, safety, security, environmental, and technical compliance regulations, ensuring all rules are followed.
- Complete or review risk assessments for tasks being carried out.
- Wear PPE as mandated and ensure all works comply with British Standards and good working practices.
- Submit timesheets, mileage sheets, and other necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
- Coordinate closely with the Service Centre.
- Follow up on non-compliance and provide quotations as needed.
- Ensure all reactive works are completed within service level agreements.
Candidate Profile:
Person Specification:
Essential:
- At least 2 years of experience servicing, maintaining, and installing CCTV, access control, intruder alarm systems, intercom systems, and fire systems.
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplined role or strong knowledge in one discipline with a willingness to cross-train.
- Knowledge of relevant British Standards and NSI and LPCB required standards.
- Advanced diagnostic and fault-finding skills, with the ability to provide technical recommendations.
- Knowledge and experience with permits to work systems, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Proficient in PC and LAN/WAN networking, including OS-level operation.
- Health & Safety training.
- Experience in system design, surveying, estimating, and quoting.
- Ability to implement and manage a program of works or PPM schedule and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of asset management and just-in-time replacement programs.
