We are now looking for a motivated and skilled Building Surveyor to join our team.

Job Overview As a Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting surveys, preparing reports, and providing expert advice on property and construction matters. You will work on a variety of projects across both residential and commercial sectors, ranging from small refurbishments to large-scale developments. Your role will involve inspecting properties, identifying any structural issues, advising on necessary repairs, and ensuring compliance with building regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed building surveys and inspections.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports outlining findings and recommendations.
  • Provide expert advice on property maintenance, repair, refurbishment, and restoration.
  • Manage projects, including preparing specifications, tender documents, and overseeing contract administration.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and building codes.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to provide professional guidance and support.
  • Conduct defect analysis and provide solutions for repair and maintenance.
  • Assist in dilapidation surveys and prepare schedules of condition.
  • Support junior team members and assist in their professional development.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A degree in Building Surveying or a related field.
  • Experience in a similar role, ideally within a consultancy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction, materials, and systems.
  • Familiarity with UK building regulations and health and safety requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Membership or working towards membership with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is desirable.
  • Full UK driving license.
