We are now looking for a motivated and skilled Building Surveyor to join our team.
Job Overview As a Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting surveys, preparing reports, and providing expert advice on property and construction matters. You will work on a variety of projects across both residential and commercial sectors, ranging from small refurbishments to large-scale developments. Your role will involve inspecting properties, identifying any structural issues, advising on necessary repairs, and ensuring compliance with building regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed building surveys and inspections.
- Prepare comprehensive reports outlining findings and recommendations.
- Provide expert advice on property maintenance, repair, refurbishment, and restoration.
- Manage projects, including preparing specifications, tender documents, and overseeing contract administration.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and building codes.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to provide professional guidance and support.
- Conduct defect analysis and provide solutions for repair and maintenance.
- Assist in dilapidation surveys and prepare schedules of condition.
- Support junior team members and assist in their professional development.
Qualifications and Skills
- A degree in Building Surveying or a related field.
- Experience in a similar role, ideally within a consultancy environment.
- Strong knowledge of building construction, materials, and systems.
- Familiarity with UK building regulations and health and safety requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Membership or working towards membership with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is desirable.
- Full UK driving license.
