The Fire Engineer's Role

As a Fire Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing fire strategies for a range of building types across multiple sectors.

This role involves engaging with clients and approval authorities to deliver innovative fire safety solutions while ensuring compliance with UK legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive fire strategies for various building types
  • Produce fire statements in line with London Plan Policy and Gateway One requirements
  • Negotiate fire safety designs and proposals with approval authorities
  • Conduct peer reviews of fire engineering calculations, including smoke modelling and evacuation analysis
  • Stay updated and ensure compliance with UK fire safety legislation


The Ideal Fire Engineer Will Have

  • 3-4 years of experience in the Fire Engineering field
  • Broad project experience across various sectors
  • Membership with the Institute of Fire Engineers
  • A BEng or CEng in Fire Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Proven success in client-engaging environments
  • Familiarity with EWS-1 and PAS 9980 standards
