Senior Quantity Surveyor - 40m Mixed Use Scheme (South East London)

Are you a Senior QS with a proven track record in delivering 20m+ projects? If so I've got a fantastic opportunity to run a 40 million mixed use scheme which includes new build, refreshment, demolition and heritage elements (JCT D&B).

Role Overview: As the lead Senior Quantity Surveyor for this project, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of a 40 million mixed use scheme. You will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of the project, ensuring that it is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your expertise in quantity surveying, cost management, and contract administration will be crucial in achieving project success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all commercial aspects of the residential phase, including cost control, procurement, and contract management.
  • Collaborate with project teams to provide accurate cost forecasting and risk analysis.
  • Review and negotiate sub-contractor agreements and ensure their compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely valuations and payment applications.
  • Manage variations and change orders to ensure cost control and contract compliance.
  • Prepare financial reports and participate in project reviews.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on residential projects, with a strong understanding of the construction industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction contracts, including JCT and D&B.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
