My client are seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Engineer with a solid track record in both commercial and residential environments to join their growing team. Working within a well-established Group within Fire Protection and Security you will have access to a number of progression routes within the business. The successful candidate will have an in-depth understanding of UK fire safety standards, particularly in the installation, maintenance, and testing of fire sprinkler systems, including both wet and dry risers working on a range of commercial and residential projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working from home you will report in to the service manager to receive your daily and weekly schedule.
  • You will cover an area of clients around the M25, however, further travel will be required on occasions.
  • Installation, servicing, and maintenance of BS EN 12845 compliant fire sprinkler systems across commercial and residential properties.
  • Testing and maintenance of dry riser systems in accordance with BS 9990 and wet riser systems in line with BS 9990 and other relevant UK fire safety regulations.
  • Carry out small works such as system upgrades, extensions, and replacements, ensuring compliance with BS 9251 for residential systems.
  • Perform routine inspections and commissioning of systems in line with UK standards, including weekly, monthly, and annual testing protocols.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, ensuring repairs are compliant with current British Standards.
  • Liaise with local fire authorities, building inspectors, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with fire safety legislation.
  • Responding to a management lead call out once every 2 months on a rota.
  • Ensure that all documentation, such as test certificates and maintenance records, are completed and stored in accordance with BS 5839 and relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Work with project managers and clients to ensure all projects are completed on time, to specification, and in compliance with UK fire safety regulations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience as a Fire Sprinkler engineer.
  • Proven experience as a Fire Sprinkler Engineer with a strong understanding of UK fire safety regulations, including BS EN 12845, BS 9251, and BS 9990.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, dry and wet riser systems, and current British fire safety standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out small works and make modifications to existing systems while adhering to UK regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on safety compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Full, clean UK driving license is essential.
  • Relevant certifications, such as LPCB certification, FIRAS, are desirable but not essential.
