Your new roleTo lead, plan, develop and deliver an expert professional service within the Asset Management Service. To support the development, management and delivery of council services. Manage staff responsible for service delivery / support within the service area. To ensure the Council maximises service outcomes in relation to cost.The surveyor is responsible for managing assets within the Council's operational property portfolio and the voluntary and community sector portfolio. This includes developing a comprehensive strategy which maximises the use and value of the Council's assets in line with corporate and political priorities. The postholder will be required to develop positive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including members, local landowners and more.What you'll need to succeedSubstantial experience in a similar sized complex public sector organisation working within an asset management function. Experience and knowledge of the property lifecycle, strategic asset management, financial analysis and risk management. The ability to develop strategies, policies and procedures, aligning them with service and corporate priorities. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and to effectively manage key stakeholders. A proactive and organised approach to managing tasks and priorities. Ability to work well under pressure. The ability to work autonomously to meet the objectives of the organisation. Membership of a relevant professional body or association (e.g., Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is advantageous.
