We are now working with our client based in the Tower Bridge area on a requirement they have for a Technical Officer. This is an initial 3-month contract (inside IR35) which requires someone to work shift work, 4 days on/4 days off (7am to 7pm). You must also be open to working weekends and bank holidays if required.
This is a multiskilled mechanical position that requires you toin supervisestaff and the maintenance and repairs of all mechanical/electrical & hydraulic machinery associated with lifting the Bridge, including operational areas, buildings and other structures associated with the Bridge, Exhibition and Events Service.
Principal responsibilities:
- Manage a proportion of the Maintenance Programme and other technical work at Tower Bridge including allocating work to Technical Assistants
- Undertake formal management duties of the Technical Assistants reporting directly to you, including staff appraisal, management of leave & sickness, allocation of overtime etc.
- Determine equipment needs for duties undertaken under the Planned Preventative Maintenance programme and issue & order stores and equipment to deliver these.
- Act as the senior technical presence at commercial/ hospitality events, and deal in that capacity with any maintenance issues that may arise
- Occasionalydeputise for the Senior Technical Officer
- Carry out routine testing of safety and emergency equipment or systems, alarm checks and responding to breakdown calls.
Key skills/experience required:
- Previous experience in a similar position
- Qualified Electrician of have an Electrical bias
- Good IT and Excel knowledge/experience
- Must be comfortable working at heights
