Voids Building Surveyor 

  • Location: London Westminster

We are seeking a dedicated Building Surveyor specialising in Social Housing Void Work, and is either MCIOB, MRICS or working towards.

This role is crucial in ensuring that accommodations meet the highest safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in managing and overseeing the entire lifecycle of void work projects from pre-void checks to post-void reviews.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Safety Assurance: Ensure accommodations comply with UK building regulations and safety standards using innovative inspection technologies.
  • Pre-void Checks: Review blueprints and site plans to identify potential issues before work commences.
  • On-site Inspections: Regular site visits to monitor progress and compliance with standards using advanced tools.
  • Post-void Review: Conduct thorough reviews post-completion to ensure accommodations are ready for occupancy.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with contractors, architects, and planners to meet all stipulated guidelines.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with evolving building regulations and codes in the UK.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Manage risks and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Contractor Management: Oversee procurement processes and manage contractors to ensure project delivery within budget and time constraints.
  • Leadership and Staff Management: Lead and develop a team of Void Officers, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven track record in managing large-scale construction projects, preferably in the public sector.
  • Skills: Strong relationship management, analytical skills, and adaptability in fast-paced environments
  • Qualifications:
    • HND or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction, Building/Technical Surveying, Architecture, or Building Surveying from a UK institution or equivalent experience.
    • Must be MRICS or MCIOB qualified.
    • Proficiency in modern building inspection tools and software.
    • Deep understanding of UK building codes and regulations.
