Job Overview:Excited to announce that we have partnered with a globally recognised company in the financial services Industry. They are looking for an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer with a strong background in CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, and Kubernetes. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled individual with a passion for deploying cloud-based IT infrastructure and automating CI/CD processes, particularly in a regulated environment. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining resilient infrastructure solutions while ensuring high levels of security and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, including GitLab Runners and GitLab CI, to automate deployment workflows.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to containerise applications using Docker and orchestrate them with Kubernetes.
  • Deploy and manage AWS infrastructure, utilising services such as EC2, EKS, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, ECR, and more.
  • Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform, ensuring reusable and scalable environments.
  • Establish and manage monitoring and alerting systems using AWS Managed Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch to track the performance and health of applications and infrastructure.
  • Ensure adherence to security best practices and compliance standards through services like AWS WAF, Shield, GuardDuty, Inspector, and AWS Secrets Manager.
  • Automate infrastructure deployment, management, and updates using tools like Argo CD and Helm.
  • Work closely with various stakeholders to optimise CI/CD pipelines and streamline development operations.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Experience as an AWS DevOps Engineer or similar role.
  • Extensive experience with GitLab, including GitLab CI and GitLab Runners, for automating deployment processes.
  • Proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes for managing, scaling, and deploying applications.
  • Solid hands-on experience with AWS, including services such as IAM, VPC, EC2, EKS, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, RDS, ECR, and API Gateway.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience using Terraform for automating and managing AWS resources.
  • Familiarity with AWS monitoring and security services, such as AWS Managed Prometheus, AWS Managed Grafana, CloudWatch, GuardDuty, Inspector, WAF, and AWS Secrets Manager.
  • Experience using Argo CD, Helm, and Cactus to manage infrastructure automation.
  • Previous experience in the financial services sector or other regulated industries is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • A continuous learner, always looking to stay up-to-date with the latest cloud and DevOps technologies.
