Exciting Opportunity at our client, a leading technology organisation!

Join our client's infrastructure security architecture team as an Azure Cloud Security Engineer. In this role, you will be the go-to subject matter expert, bridging the gap between the wider Technology Security area and the Cloud Platform Engineering team for our client's large Microsoft Azure estate. Your expertise and experience in Azure will be essential in supporting our client's security teams to achieve their security goals.

About the role:

As an Azure Cloud Security Principal Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing security initiatives, as well as supporting colleagues across the business. You will be responsible for managing Azure Policy direction, providing advice on complex implementations, supporting in security incident response, and monitoring & reporting of security compliance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing Azure Policy direction and supporting exemptions.
  • Assessing impact of upcoming Azure security-related change initiatives and ensuring compliance with security policies and standards.
  • Providing security architecture advice to key functions and senior stakeholders.
  • Offering support and advice on complex and custom implementations by other security or engineering teams.
  • Supporting in security incident response and providing specialist expertise when incidents occur within the Azure environment.
  • Monitoring and reporting on security compliance against Tesco security standards and best practises.
  • Collaborating with the wider CPE team to document constructs and create documentation for a variety of audiences.
  • Inputting into standards and cookbooks.

You will need:

  • Great experience in a senior Azure architecture or engineer role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including Azure CLI, PowerShell, and Azure REST API.
  • Familiarity with cloud security best practises, Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) solutions, Role Based Access Control, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with Entra ID, Azure Policy, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of designing secure solutions in public or private clouds.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and threat modelling exercises on cloud systems.
  • Exposure/understanding of containerisation, specifically Kubernetes and Docker, with a focus on security best practises.
