A leading luxury hotel chain that prides itself on delivering exceptional experiences to our guests is looking to hire a Google Cloud Engineer on a contract. They are currently embarking on a significant modernization journey to enhance their IT infrastructure and improve operational efficiency. As part of this initiative, we are seeking a Certified Google Cloud Engineer to help bridge the gap in their legacy systems.

Role Overview: They are looking for an experienced Google Cloud Engineer to assist in transitioning our legacy VMware stack to the Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE). This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to modernize our IT processes and mitigate IT risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the migration of our legacy VMware environment to Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE).
  • Assess current IT processes and develop strategies to modernize and optimize them within the Google Cloud ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with our IT team to ensure a smooth transition, providing expertise and guidance throughout the migration process.
  • Implement best practices for cloud architecture and management, ensuring security and compliance.
  • Document processes and provide training resources to equip our team for future operations in the cloud environment.

Qualifications required:

  • Certified Google Cloud Engineer (Associate or Professional) with extensive experience in GCP.
  • Proven experience with Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) and legacy system migrations.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, risk management, and modernization strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating effective communication skills.
  • Previous experience in the hospitality or luxury sector is a plus but not required.
