IT Infrastructure Engineer / Infrastructure Engineer 

  • Location: Fully remote – UK Wide - Occasional travel to offices but all expenses would be paid.

  • Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum depending on experience. 

Infrastructure Engineer required for an International Investment and Wealth Management firm to provide essential 3rd level IT support to business operations. As a vital member of the IT team, you will be responsible for building, deploying, coordinating, and maintaining the IT environment necessary for both internal and external operations. This role involves a mix of business-as-usual activities and key local and strategic projects.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Manage and execute the organisation’s IT infrastructure, including server builds, virtualisation, migrations, and support.
  • Install, migrate, and support Microsoft cloud services (e.g., Office 365 & Azure) and Microsoft applications (e.g., Exchange, SQL, SharePoint).
  • Set up and support network and firewall configurations (primarily Checkpoint).
  • Establish and maintain backup solutions.
  • Provide end-user level 3 device support and troubleshooting as required.
  • Engage with the change process and execute on change tasks according to the agreed scope.
  • Implement proactive support upgrades, patching, and all other maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all IT infrastructure assets are hardened, patched, secured, configured, maintained, and services are kept available.
  • Assist with the review and determination of capacity, performance, and communication bandwidth requirements for systems – both on-premise and cloud-based services.
  • Evaluate solutions proposed by vendors, identifying the best fit for organisational requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure management and execution.
  • Proficiency in server builds, virtualisation, migrations, and support.
  • Experience with Microsoft cloud services and applications.
  • Knowledge of network and firewall setup and support, particularly with Checkpoint.
  • Ability to manage backup solutions and provide level 3 end-user device support.
  • Strong communication skills and excellent collaboration with team members.
  • Experience in maintaining the health of the IT estate, including executing maintenance checks and providing metrics.
  • Vendor management skills, including the ability to work with vendors to escalate, resolve, and close out level 3 tickets.
