Robert Half Technology are assisting a global retail organisation to recruit a Infrastructure Engineer on a contract basis

Role

  • The Infrastructure Engineer will develop, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment of applications across our global infrastructure.
  • Design, build, and manage Windows till and back-of-house images to support the franchise's POS systems and other critical infrastructure components.
  • Oversee the Windows POS estate, ensuring systems are up-to-date, secure, and operating efficiently.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
  • Develop and maintain scripts using Python, Bash, and PowerShell to automate routine tasks, troubleshoot issues, and optimise system performance.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to implement best practices for system performance, scalability, and security.
  • Monitor system health and proactively address potential issues to ensure continuous availability and performance.

Profile

  • The Infrastructure Engineer will have proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar platforms.
  • Strong experience in designing, building, and maintaining Windows images for POS and back-of-house systems.
  • Expertise in managing and supporting Windows-based environments, including POS systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Proficient in scripting languages, including Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
