Lead Infrastructure Engineer / AWS - £100K + Excellent Bonus & Benefits – FinTechOverview:We have an exciting opportunity with one of our clients—a rapidly expanding, data-driven SaaS organisation with an impressive client portfolio. We are looking for an experienced Lead Infrastructure Engineer to help elevate their infrastructure, with a particular focus on early-stage architectural development.This is a pivotal moment to join the company, and the successful candidate will be crucial to the growth and success of the engineering and infrastructure teams. A strong background in infrastructure is essential for this role. We are seeking a senior, hands-on engineer to collaborate closely with the CTO in designing, monitoring, and upgrading the existing systems.Role and Responsibilities:
  • Reliability, availability, security and scalability of the platform
  • Deployment, automation, management and maintenance of cloud-based systems (AWS)
  • Management of creation, release and configuration of systems
  • System troubleshooting and problem resolution across our application domains and platforms
  • Ensuring system security is best in class
  • Working with developers on current and new functionality to ensure best infrastructure architecture
  • Provisioning single tenant versions of the infrastructure and helping spec custom integrations
  • Advocating for changes in current architecture to maximise performance, availability and cost savings
  • Instil DevOps practices within the team
  • Some out-of-hours support will be needed
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Well versed in building and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS using services such as EKS, Kafka (MKS), Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, Aurora, ECS Fargate, Lambda, SecretsManager, AWS Organisations, IAM, KMS, preferably with certification in these areas.
  • Strong security focus
  • Production experience managing EKS
  • Production experience managing Kafka (MSK)
  • A good knowledge of AWS best practices around multi-account / multi-region setups and experience delivering SaaS based products (multi-tenancy/single-tenant setups)
  • Automation using Terraform
  • Strong understanding of observability tools like Datadog. Good understanding of networks and cross data centre networking
  • Production support

  • £80K - £100K basic
