About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our client's team on a 3-month contract. You will work with customers within the higher education, university, and research sectors, helping them leverage cutting-edge technologies to improve their operational efficiency and infrastructure.

You will collaborate closely with teams that manage high-performance computing (HPC) environments, with a focus on Kubernetes, Linux, and open-source connectivity in live environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and manage DevOps solutions for customers in higher education and research sectors.
  • Work with HPC systems and deploy, maintain, and scale Kubernetes clusters.
  • Ensure the performance, reliability, and scalability of Linux-based infrastructure.
  • Support open-source software and connectivity solutions in live, production environments.
  • Collaborate with client IT teams to implement DevOps best practices and solutions tailored to their specific needs.
  • Conduct site visits to customer locations (UK cities) as required.
Key Skills and Experience:
  • Strong DevOps experience: Proven track record in designing and implementing DevOps solutions in complex, live environments.
  • HPC: Experience with high-performance computing environments.
  • Kubernetes: Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production.
  • Linux: Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and administration.
  • Open-Source Connectivity: Experience with managing and integrating open-source solutions.
  • Ability to work independently, with excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability in customer-facing environments.
