The Client
My client, based in the City of London, is a global asset manager with around 120 staff members. Organic growth sees them recruiting for a Senor Infrastructure Engineer to join their team.
The Role
This role will be responsible for overseeing the company's technology infrastructure, including designing, deploying, and managing secure and scalable solutions. They are looking for someone with expertise in hybrid cloud environments, network security, and data centre operations.
You will be a number 2 to the Head of IT although due to the nature of the business, and size of the team you will also be expected to help on some day to day support tasks.
Responsibilities include
- Infrastructure Design & Implementation: Develop and manage high-availability infrastructure solutions across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Network Management: Oversee network infrastructure to ensure secure and efficient connectivity across all offices.
- Cybersecurity: Contribute to the firm's cybersecurity strategy, conduct assessments, and actively participate in defending and explaining the firm's cybersecurity position.
- Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Assist in designing and managing disaster recovery and business continuity plans, oversee data protection and backup solutions, and participate in testing.
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Maintain BAU for infrastructure components like firewalls, networks, and user endpoints.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor infrastructure, address incidents, and provide root cause analysis.
- Technical Leadership: Act as a technical authority, providing expertise and support to junior team members.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT and business teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
Your Profile
To apply for this City of London based role you will have at least 6 years experience within an Infrastructure role for a Financial Services or sales/trading firm. You will ideally have been involved in a M365 integration and have extensive experience with Azure. The hiring manager is looking for a number to therefore you should have had management or team leadership experience with the ambitions of stepping into a IT leadership role.
Salary & Benefits
- £80,000-£90,000
- Hybrid working - 3 days a week in the office after probation
