A great opportunity has arisen firm for an ambitious Senior Executive or Junior Manager looking for their next step up to a Business Development Manager level role. You will joining a highly regarded legal firm going through an exciting period of growth to manage and drive practice marketing and business development initiatives.

Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the role holder will bring a strategic and planned approach to marketing and business development and advise on best practice. It will be the responsibility of the Business Development Manager to drive forward initiatives that will directly impact on the success of the group, working with partners and other fee earners to provide strong project management in the implementation of practice development and marketing plans and ensuring activities are carried out to time and budget. You will be heavily involved in client development and targeting and bids and proposals. On the marketing side you will implement practice-wide marketing campaigns and support fee earners on their profile raising initiatives. The successful applicant will be responsible for marketing communications and collateral, directory and award submissions and for identifying opportunities for marketing events and seminars, which will help the practice develop its reputation in key target markets and generate leads in a cost effective manner.

Pre-requisites for the role of Business Development Manager include proven business development experience gained in a leading law or professional services firm and demonstrable success in dealing with partners at a senior level. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and tenacious team player, with high attention to detail and excellent influencing, communication and project management skills. An understanding or keen desire to learn about the relevant practice area will be essential.
