Leading main contracting organisation seeks to employ a proven commercial professional who has experience of working on major civil engineering projects (rail, highways, nuclear etc) to join their team in either London or their offices in Surrey.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a very diverse project valued at 100million which you will see you be the commercial lead for managing a small team consisting of a Senior Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor and Assistant Quantity Surveyor.

This leading brand is looking for an individual with an appetite for quick progression as it is envisaged that this role will develop from a Commercial Manager to Senior Commercial Manager within 12 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation of the monthly CVR and associated commercial reports
  • Report and explain the commercial progress to senior divisional staff
  • Handle dispute resolution, understanding options and structure
  • Apply relevant legislation and liaise with legal experts effectively
  • Prepare estimates and tender submissions, interpreting specifications and preambles
  • Represent financial and contractual interests in progress meetings
  • Coordinate buying, accounts, production control, planning, supply chain management, and procurement
  • Manage and report commercial risks and opportunities
  • Oversee commercial aspects with customers and stakeholders

Job Requirements:

  • BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience
  • Experience in managing complex projects and contracts circa 100million in value
  • Proven commercial performance management at a senior level
  • Financial and commercial control experience on large projects
  • Proven track record in managing audits on Target Cost Contracts
  • Effective team performance management and training provision
  • Membership or working towards RICS or ICES membership
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and maintain high standards
