Overview:

In this pivotal role, you will drive the commercial success of the microbiome testing division for a leading biotechnology company. Your primary responsibility will be to establish and lead a sales team dedicated to increasing revenue in this area. This role involves contributing to the creation of commercial and sales strategies, generating leads, building and maintaining client relationships, setting and surpassing revenue targets, and meeting customer needs. Responsibilities:
  • Effectively represent the company with in-depth knowledge of the product portfolio.
  • Generate new business opportunities and nurture client relationships.
  • Achieve and exceed revenue targets set by the Board.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) weekly, including sales reports, and provide insights on successes and areas for improvement.
  • Actively participate in defining and executing the company’s commercial strategy to expand market share in the UK and EU through microbiome testing products and services.
  • Analyse sales strategies, performance data, and sales forecasts to optimize results.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the market, consumer needs, and identify the company's ideal customer profile and market fit.
  • Assess competitor products and services, providing feedback to the company for strategic adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team on product and service enhancements.
  • Work closely with the Operations team to ensure smooth fulfilment and invoicing processes.
  • Collect and communicate client feedback to improve products and services.
  • In the medium to long term, assist in hiring, training, motivating, and guiding a team of sales representatives.
  • Identify knowledge gaps within the team and develop plans to address them, including relaying client requests and information to the lab/research and development teams.
  • Participate in marketing initiatives, including contributing to the creation of marketing materials and social media content.
  • Occasionally assist with the sale of the company’s pathology services when bundled with microbiome services, or support other team members as needed.
  • Develop and standardize onboarding, account management, and other commercial Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure the highest level of client management, including negotiating terms of service and pricing.
