Role Summary
The role is part of the Business Development Team, tasks in the team include:
- Development of existing and recruitment of new customers;
- Exploration and development of new services;
- Interaction with other departments and the wider Group.
The Business Development Co-ordinator will be required to undertake and co-ordinate a wide range of day sales administrative activities and duties to support the growth and development of the business. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, main interfaces are with the rest of the team, marketing & communications, and customer support teams.
Main Tasks
- Manages UK's email inbox, responding/circulating where appropriate and progressing leads and enquiries as required and directed
- Utilises CRM (MS Dynamics) and other systems to record, track and report on the progress of enquiries and opportunities
- Supports the onboarding of new customers
- Prepares updates for various Sales/BD/Management meetings
- Prepares presentation documents for internal and external use
- Reviews internal processes, making recommendations for the best ways to improve to achieve business goals and reduce workload
- Keeps colleagues informed of relevant updates/opportunities
Service Development
- Supports BD Team in identifying new target companies and market areas, including working with various outside companies, trade associations and other industry and government organisations
- Undertakes research and canvasing to build and maintain prospective client lists
- Develops relationships with customers and other stakeholders
Skills:
CRM systems - (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce) to record, track and report on customer interactions and sales activities.
Excel - Ability to develop and generate reports using pivot tables and charts to visualise data trends and support decision-making
- Experience in sales/business development and in dealing with customers
- Experience in administration, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
- Understanding of the waste and recycling industry, regulations and compliance
