JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Wind Commissioner role reports to the Site Manager through the Commissioning Lead. The Wind Commissioner is a trained technician in all aspects of the commissioning process.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Wind Commissioner, you will:
Ensure all systems and equipment are tested and commissioned, in accordance with the applicable documentation.
As directed, perform basic SCADA / Wind Controls System commissioning in accordance with documentation, support and supervise from SCADA Technical Support Engineer
Ensure corrective action is taken to fix all problems that impact turbine completion
Provide information for digital tracking/ reporting tools, where required
Keep records, maintain documentation and report as required by company policy
Adhere to and/or implement Safety Procedures/protocols issued to the site. Comply with all Safety & Quality Processes.
Participate in LOTO process as required/directed
Mentor and share knowledge within area of responsibility. Support and facilitate on the job trainings (OJT).
While assigned to a project, represent the client in a responsible manner with integrity and by exercising good judgment, both during work hours and off work hours. Manage time and assigned resources responsibly to ensure successful completion of the site goals and objectives
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors engineering degree (Electrical Engineering preferred) or equivalent professional qualification as an electrical engineer/technician
Relevant professional, technical experience, ideally in wind turbine commissioning
Advocate for health, safety and environmental matters; detailed knowledge about EHS & Safety regulations
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Awareness of and experience in Quality processes and ability to instill quality mindset in site team
Ability to work to tight deadlines whilst continuing to follow safety/quality guidelines
Analytic skills regarding technical tasks and processes
Proven fluent English knowledge, both verbally and written Trained to Global Wind Organization (GWO) standard.
Medical capability for working at heights according to international and/or local standards (e.g. G41 / G35)
Valid Driving License
Capable of working at remote sites in adverse weather conditions (heat, humidity, cold, wind, altitude)
Willingness to travel (inland/abroad) & very high flexibility, 90% national / international travel required
