Our client is a leading provider of sustainable waste management solutions across the UK. They are dedicated to reducing food waste and promoting environmental sustainability.

The role:

We are looking for experienced Food Waste Collection Drivers to operate 3.5t vans across the UK. Successful candidates will be responsible for collecting food waste from commercial and residential clients, ensuring timely and efficient service.

Key Tasks:

  • Safely operate a 3.5 tonne van to collect food waste from designated routes nationwide.
  • Ensure timely and efficient collection according to the scheduled routes.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with clients, addressing any concerns or questions.
  • Accurately complete daily log sheets and maintain records of collections.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety procedures.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs.
  • Load and unload food waste containers, ensuring they are handled with care to avoid spillage.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize routes and improve service efficiency.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues encountered during collections to the supervisor.

Health and Safety:

  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Attend regular health and safety training sessions.
  • Report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions immediately to the supervisor.
  • Ensure food waste is handled in a hygienic and safe manner to prevent contamination.

Van Care:

  • Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure the van is in good working condition.
  • Keep the van clean and well-maintained at all times.
  • Report any mechanical issues or damages to the maintenance team promptly.
  • Ensure the van is stocked with necessary tools and equipment for the job.

Experience required:

  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Experience driving a 3.5t vehicle or similar
