Duties:

Our client is embarking on an exciting and significant Business Transformation Programme underpinned by SAP S/4 HANA. Through this programme, the client aims to drive process and data standardisation and simplification. This programme will be delivered over a multi-year period with global geographic reach.

Executive sponsorship of the programme is fundamental to successful outcomes. The company's leadership must advocate & agitate for change across all levels of the organisation. We are seeking a dedicated Executive Communications Manager (ECM) who has proven experience of influencing Exec level stakeholders through communications, stakeholder management & engagement activities in a fast-paced multi-wave transformation programme environment with a strong ability to translate programme scope, vision, progress and opportunities into an engaging narrative.

The Executive Communications Manager (ECM) is responsible for stakeholder management, engagement & monitoring activities, with a focus on communications to and from Executive & Leadership groups. The ECM will understand the needs of senior business leaders from the programme and the programme's needs of senior leadership. Successful influence of Executive leadership will require a thorough understanding of opportunities for and barriers to change.

  • Identify senior stakeholders & their influence / reach across all business functions & regions; ensure the Global Change team monitors sponsors support that is critical to successful programme outcomes.
  • Leveraging the Global Change methodology, agree the target advocacy required from each Executive sponsor to achieve programme outcomes.
  • Understand the impact of the programme on Executives personally; plan for and support the change journey individuals will personally experience as a result of the programme.
  • Create an Executive engagement and communications strategy; execute the strategy through a targeted and timely communications plan across all programme waves that achieves required sponsor advocacy, aligning Executive communications outcomes with programme milestones.
  • Capture and monitor advocacy for or opposition to the changes that the project will drive across the Executive sponsor group and track with the Global Comms team. With this understanding, identify, monitor and address risks & opportunities for the programme, with support of appropriate programme team members. Ensure risks, issues & dependencies are documented and escalated leveraging appropriate programme methodology and tools.
  • As an extended member of the Programme Management office, build a solid understanding of the programme status, issues and opportunities and integrate key messages within communications. Brief the Programme Management team on Executive comms outcomes and plan to achieve, providing standard templates, critical paths and coaching to ensure needs are met.
  • Integrate Exec communications scheduling, planning & delivery with the Programme Management and Global & Regional communications plans, synchronising consistent messaging across the Global & Regional leadership teams.
  • Support the development of the programme narrative, key messages, benefits and communications blueprint to underpin Exec communication activities covering cultural, process and functional and persona-led viewpoints.
  • Identify, utilise or create effective communication channels for deploying communications to senior stakeholders and the business applying a global, regional and local perspective.

Skills:

  • Significant experience in planning and influencing senior leaders to support & drive change across their people. This will include managing communications activities and creating content that successfully supports people through change for complex transformational projects, ideally ERP / IT-enabled.
  • Strong knowledge of and ability to leverage formal & informal communication channels and ability to innovate to generate excitement and engagement.
  • Track record of working with or managing third-party providers to collaborate and achieve project goals as one team.
  • Experience in stakeholder event planning & delivery.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills and ability effectively target and tailor the message and medium to various audience groups to achieve intended outcomes.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and ability to deliver high-quality communications in compressed timelines.
  • Proficient in using a variety of tools to develop plans and communications content (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Yammer/Viva Engage, Teams, Synthesia, Canva, Poppulo etc.)
