Job Summary

As an Apprenticeship Assessor for the Level 3 Community Health and Wellbeing Worker standard, you will oversee a cohort of learners, taking full ownership of their development journey. This includes planning and delivering a range of programs, such as apprenticeships, short courses, and qualifications within the subject area. Your role will involve guiding learners through their apprenticeship journey, supporting their professional growth, and helping them meet the requirements of the apprenticeship standard.

You will work closely with the apprenticeship team to ensure that learners are recruited, onboarded, and engaged effectively. You will be responsible for curriculum development, delivering training sessions (both online and face-to-face), assessing learner progress, and providing feedback and support as needed. You will also liaise with employers and line managers to ensure that the learners' job roles are aligned with the apprenticeship requirements.

Expert knowledge of the personalised care agenda and apprenticeship processes is essential, alongside experience in tutoring and assessing apprenticeships in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Learner Engagement & Onboarding

  • Participate in learner recruitment and selection, advising on suitability for the apprenticeship program
  • Support learners through the onboarding process, including assessments for Maths and English
  • Lead engagement meetings with learners, line managers, and employers to set expectations and explain the delivery model

Curriculum Development

  • Design dynamic, diverse schemes of learning that cater to various learning styles
  • Ensure the curriculum is logically sequenced and aligned with the apprenticeship standard
  • Create teaching materials, such as presentations, assignments, videos, and learning logs, with support from the Apprenticeship Delivery Manager

Training Delivery

  • Develop lesson plans and deliver interactive, engaging training sessions (both online and in-person)
  • Conduct assessments and observations, helping learners build their portfolios in preparation for the End Point Assessment (EPA)
  • Provide feedback to learners, including stretch and challenge, and ensure they submit work on time
  • Offer pastoral and academic support, including identifying and addressing additional learning needs

End Point Assessments

  • Monitor EPA requirements and integrate these into the program delivery
  • Manage gateway reviews and prepare learners for EPA, ensuring they understand the process and expectations
  • Support learners in building a strong portfolio of evidence for the EPA

Person Specification

Qualifications & Training

  • Essential:
    • Relevant academic qualifications for the apprenticeship being assessed
    • Level 2 Maths and English qualifications
    • Apprenticeship Assessor qualification (e.g., A1/D32, CAVA, TAQA)
  • Desirable:
    • Degree or equivalent experience
    • Project Management qualifications
    • Level 4 Award in Education and Training or equivalent

Experience

  • Extensive experience in the field relevant to the apprenticeship
  • Experience in delivering and assessing apprenticeships through both in-person and online platforms
  • Curriculum development and creation of teaching materials
  • Experience working with awarding bodies and managing the EPA process
  • Building strong relationships with learners, employers, and stakeholders
