Our client is one of the worlds leading facilities management companies providing superior cleaning & hygiene; maintenance and building; catering; security; landscaping and a wide range of other tailor-made services for customers throughout the Public and Private Sectors
They currently have a high profile contract is West London where they provide a high quality facility services designed to maintain the fabric and appearance of the estates buildings and are currently looking for two experienced Fire Door Engineers to join their installation and maintenance team.
A typical Day will consist of:
- As a Fire Door Engineer you will be expected to support the maintenance operation in place on the site.
- This support is co-ordinated through the Engineering Manager who will guide and direct the daily duties of work.
- You will provide a level of General Building Maintenance as part of a small multi-disciplinary building Service's Team.
- The Fire Door Engineer will be responsible for installing and inspecting fire-rated doors to ensure they are installed and functioning correctly and in compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
- The Fire Door Inspector will evaluate fire doors for proper installation, maintenance, and repair.
- The individual will work independently or as part of a team to install, inspect and test fire-rated doors, provide detailed reports of findings, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- There will be a requirement to maintain and install fire stopping throughout the building.
Desired Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry
- NVQ in passive fire - (preferred, not essential)
- A strong background in carpentry and joinery
- Installation of fire doors in accordance with British Standard regulation and BM Trada Q-Mark and IFC schemes.
- Maintenance and repairs of fire doors in accordance with BM Trada Q-Mark and IFC schemes.
- Experience installing new sets
- Experience upgrading and maintaining existing doors and frames
