If so, Signature Recruitment is looking for an Accessibility Project Officer to work within a prestigious London university. The role starts in January, is full-time and is offered on a six-month contract, with potential to extend. It is a hybrid position with two days on campus, the balance working from home.

As an Accessibility Project Officer, you will use your experience in Facilities and Operations and an understanding of accessibility standards and requirements to assist in driving change within accessibility practices. The role will combine considered thinking with practical implementation. You will confidently interpret plans and be process driven and solution focused in implementing strategies and processes across the university’s historic London campuses.

Accessibility Project Officer Key Responsibilities:
  • Connecting with and supporting teams to guide and monitor accessibility within the development process as well as confidently consulting with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Assisting and advising teams on matters relating to accessible and inclusive practices for all areas of the university buildings and campuses
  • Creating process maps to deliver a positive customer experience for disabled students and staff, including post project evaluation and recommendations
  • Maintaining a risk register around building inclusivity and accessibility, auditing and monitoring processes, preparing, collating and analysing reports
  • Organising and coordinating with AccessAble for surveyor site visits
  • Assisting with other duties in order to support the team and wider university including keeping up to date with legislation and guidance and creating a series of events for best practice
Accessibility Project Officer Key Skills:
  • A background working in Facilities and Operations with demonstrable project management experience and a good understanding of accessibility standards
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with all stakeholders effectively with good time management and ability to multitask whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy
  • A friendly and personable manner with an understanding of dealing with situations with focus and strong organisational and administrative skills to action outcomes
  • Proficient in IT skills
