About the Role
A local government authority is seeking an experienced Interim Deputy Mechanical & Electrical Manager to provide expert leadership and support across a broad range of mechanical and electrical services. This key position involves managing contractors, overseeing performance, and ensuring that service delivery meets critical KPIs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support across key service areas, including Electrical, Lighting, Lifts, Mechanical, Legionella, Domestic Gas, and Communal Gas services.
- Manage and oversee contractor performance, ensuring compliance with agreed KPIs and quality standards.
- Lead and manage a team of 20+ staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Attend and contribute to relevant meetings, such as Programme Board and Contractor Core Group meetings.
- Oversee the management of multi-million-pound contracts across both repairs and capital programmes.
- Provide detailed reporting and updates to senior management on service delivery, performance, and areas for improvement.

Skills & Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering and/or electrical services.
- Membership in a professional institute such as CIBSE, CIOB, or RICS.
- Extensive experience in contract management and delivering large-scale programmes in social housing or a related environment.
- Proven ability to manage large teams and lead complex projects effectively.
- Strong contract management expertise, including overseeing multi-million-pound contracts.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to report effectively to senior management and stakeholders.
