Early Years Teacher

Here at Nurse Seekers we are proud to be recruiting an experienced Early Years Teacher for a well-established privately-owned Nursery and Pre-school based near Archway, London. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced teacher to shape pedagogy within their setting, and maintain the excellent standard of early years education we offer.

This quality setting are looking for a creative and innovative teacher who has a passion for learning to join their dedicated Pre-School classroom that has class sizes of approximately 16 children, aged 3 to 5 years. The setting is very well resourced and one of its outdoor spaces is used solely for the use of the preschool room which offeres a range of opportunities for exploration, investigation and play.

The successful Early Years Teacher must hold a full and relevant QTS or EYTS recognised qualification and have an excellent command of written and spoken English.

Key Outline of this role:

  • The role involves leading pedagogy in the setting; planning and implementing a curriculum based on the EYFS (utilising Birth to 5 Matters guidance) which supports childrens learning and development.
  • The teacher works within a small teaching team which includes two Early Years Practitioners and a member of support staff.
  • You will be responsible for working with your team as well as senior members of staff across the setting to ensure effective implementation of our play based, child-led curriculum throughout the nursery
  • In addition to planning and directing sessions in our dedicated teaching room, responsibilities may include attending weekly planning meetings, assisting with INSET training days, maintaining childrens folders, one to one reading, carrying out childrens observations and writing transfer records
  • The teacher will also be expected to assist practitioners in reflecting on practice, promote robust and appropriate pedagogical approaches and encourage sustained shared thinking between adults and children.
