Electrical Construction Manager
About the Role: We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Construction Manager to oversee a large Data Centre project in West London. This position offers the opportunity to work with a leading Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation contractor involved in diverse projects across Ireland, Mainland Europe, the Nordics, and the UK. We operate in various sectors, including Pharmaceutical, Data Centre, Healthcare, Education, Commercial, and Power Generation.
Role Overview: Reporting to the Project Manager, you will join a well-established and dedicated team, benefiting from a supportive culture where your ideas and contributions are valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Support: Assist the Project Manager in managing and supervising on-site personnel.
- Leadership: Set, monitor, and enforce safety standards and quality of work. Lead by example and implement the site safety plan and rules.
- Training and Development: Ensure all employees have the relevant training and expertise to perform their tasks safely and professionally.
- Resource Management: Manage labor resources on site to ensure efficiency. Plan labor and material resources in advance, and oversee subcontractor labor hours.
- Subcontractor Management: Oversee subcontractor activities, track progress against the schedule, address performance issues, and maintain positive working relationships.
- Performance Management: Maintain performance management of supervision and other personnel, report incidents, and take appropriate actions.
- Quality Control: Verify that materials match project specifications before installation and implement the project quality plan. Ensure all snag lists are addressed promptly.
- Project Handover: Support project handover to the client and assist with the closeout of project items in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Scope Management: Ensure works are completed according to project scope. Approve any additional works or changes requested by the Project Manager.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Education: Trade or Degree qualified in an electrical or related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a construction management role within the electrical contracting space, with prior experience in Data Centre construction projects.
- Skills: Excellent people management skills, ability to motivate teams, and manage subcontractors. Strong knowledge of design and construction processes.
