Family owned they work with a mixture of private and public sector clients across London and the Southeast delivering high quality new build, refurbishment, retrofit, roofing projects, reactive repairs and maintenance projects ranging between 5m and 50m for local authorities, schools, hospitals, commercial organisations, and housing associations.
The Role
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for a variety of construction projects.
This role requires a detail-oriented professional with extensive experience in cost estimation, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
The Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to ensure accurate project planning and execution.
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Analyse project requirements, including plans, specifications, and scope of work, to develop accurate cost estimates
-Collaborate with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for labour, materials, and services
-Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for various construction projects, considering all relevant cost factors
-Review and analyse vendor and subcontractor proposals to determine cost competitiveness and accuracy
-Assist in developing pricing strategies and value engineering solutions to optimize -project budgets
-Participate in project meetings to provide insights on cost-related matters and assist in making informed decisions
-Maintain a structured database of historical project cost data for reference and future estimation accuracy
-Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and cost factors affecting construction
