Are you an experienced Fabric Manager with a background in carpentry? Do you have a passion for heritage buildings and hands-on woodwork? We have an exciting opportunity for you to manage a Grade 1 listed heritage contract based near Charing Cross Station.

About the Role:We are looking for a skilled Fabric Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair of a prestigious Grade 1 listed building. The role requires both practical woodwork experience on the tools and the ability to manage a team of fabric engineers to ensure the ongoing care and preservation of this historic site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of fabric engineers, ensuring high-quality service delivery for all maintenance and repair work.
  • Oversee the upkeep and restoration of woodwork, ensuring it aligns with heritage and preservation standards.
  • Conduct hands-on woodwork, including carpentry, repairs, and refurbishments, as required.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, health and safety standards, and building preservation guidelines.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialist repairs and services.
  • Monitor and manage maintenance schedules, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all fabric and maintenance issues on site.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Fabric Manager with a background in carpentry and hands-on woodwork.
  • Extensive experience managing a team of fabric engineers.
  • Strong knowledge of heritage building preservation and maintenance, particularly woodwork.
  • IOSH certification is preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and ensure high standards of workmanship.
  • A proactive approach with a keen eye for detail.
