Project Manager - Capital Works & Decarbonisation (Fixed Term)

Location: Local Authority, North LondonSalary: £55,000 per annum Contract Type: Fixed Term (12-24 months)Work Pattern: Hybrid (2 days per week in the office)

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in capital works and in-depth knowledge of decarbonisation projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing capital works projects, with specific expertise in delivering projects aligned with the Sustainable Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) objectives. This role requires a high level of technical understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of capital works projects with a focus on decarbonisation. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Decarbonisation Expertise: Lead initiatives that align with SHDF objectives, including energy efficiency improvements and retrofitting of existing housing stock.
  • Technical Knowledge: Apply in-depth technical knowledge to manage on-site delivery, coordinate with retrofit experts, and ensure compliance with sustainability standards.
  • Bid Management: Contribute to the preparation and review of bids, ensuring alignment with project requirements and funding guidelines.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with internal teams, external contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and address any issues promptly.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on project progress, challenges, and outcomes to senior management and other relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Extensive experience in capital works project management with a strong focus on decarbonisation and SHDF projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proven ability to manage on-site delivery, understanding of retrofit coordination, APS requirements, and sustainability practices.
  • Bid Knowledge: Experience with the preparation and assessment of project bids, including understanding how they are structured and evaluated.
  • Qualifications: Relevant degree or professional qualifications in project management, construction, or a related field.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively liaise with various stakeholders and manage project teams.
