An opportunity has arisen to appoint an officer into the position of Contract manager responsible for the delivery and management of mechanical services across the council’s housing estates. The services include but are not limited to, Domestic boiler, Communal boiler/plant/energy rooms, Fire Safety disciplines such as Wet & Dry Risers/Sprinklers, Communal Ventilation, Gas supplies, HRU/Air Source Heat pumps, Water (domestic as well as communal) etc.

This position will sit in the council's M&E team as part of the Property & Asset Management department.

You need to have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the mechanical Industry including the relevant regulations, guidelines and legislation as well as practical experience delivering both repairs & maintenance, servicing and upgrades/replacements and new installation programmes.

Your experience must include setting budgets, monitoring spend and forecasting future budget requirements.

You should have experience in managing a team of at least 6 plus officers ranging from Service managers/supervisors, COW and project support officers. This experience should include managing the allocation of work, performance, development of staff and the well being of officers.
