About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Delivery / Project Lead (Linear Assets) to oversee the inspection, maintenance, and project delivery of critical infrastructure along the M25 network. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safe and efficient management of pavement, barrier, fencing, and drainage assets - elements that are essential to road safety, customer experience, and operational excellence.

You will be responsible for driving the predictable and cost-effective execution of the annual asset management programme while optimising resources within a matrix organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a large team and make a tangible impact on one of the UK's most significant road networks.

What You'll Be Doing

Safety Leadership:

  • Champion high standards of visible safety leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, embedding a strong safety culture within teams.
  • Promote Making Safety Personal principles across all operational activities.

People Leadership:

  • Lead and inspire a high-performing team responsible for inspections, maintenance, and project execution.
  • Communicate clear delivery targets and expectations, ensuring optimal productivity.
  • Engage and empower front-line maintenance and inspection teams, ensuring quality and efficiency in execution.

Portfolio & Project Management:

  • Oversee a diverse portfolio of asset inspections, maintenance, and projects to align with strategic business objectives.
  • Take ownership of scheduling, execution, and completion of all assigned asset projects.
  • Deliver predictable and timely outcomes, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Financial & Budget Management:

  • Manage and monitor performance against annual budgets.
  • Implement corrective actions to drive financial efficiency and operational effectiveness.

Stakeholder & Resource Management:

  • Act as the primary liaison for internal stakeholders and clients, ensuring seamless communication and issue resolution.
  • Work collaboratively with Inspection, Maintenance, and Delivery PMO leads to coordinate and optimise resource allocation.
  • Prepare and present reports on asset delivery performance to senior leadership.

Who We're Looking For

  • Experience: Proven track record in maintenance, project delivery, or infrastructure asset management.
  • Leadership: Strong people management skills with experience leading teams in a complex environment.
  • Project Management: Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
  • Safety & Compliance: Deep understanding of safety standards and regulatory requirements in the industry.
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is desirable.
