An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Design Manager to join a privately owned residential main contractor based in South London to take on a new scheme of cut & carve, demolition, and new build elements including RC frame and CLT structures.
Client Details
Our client is a privately owned residential main contractor which specialises in delivering new build, refurb, and planned works to Local Authority and HA clients. They are family owned and operate with a flat structure meaning that as a Design Manager you will have outright responsibility to run 1-2 schemes and will have exposure to senior management. The working hours are 8am-5pm with at least 3 days per week required on site, some occasional work from home is possible.
Description
- Overseeing the entire design process for construction projects within the property industry.
- Working closely with the construction team to ensure design viability and efficiency.
- Leading the design team to ensure that all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Continuously improving the design process by implementing innovative techniques and tools.
- Managing relationships with clients, contractors, and team members.
- Ensuring all designs comply with regulatory and safety standards.
- Addressing any design-related issues that may arise during the construction process.
- Providing regular progress reports to senior management.
Profile
A successful Design Manager should have:
- Either a project running architect background or experience as a Design Manager
- Familiarity with RC frame design and construction delivery for residential schemes
- Good knowledge of building regulations and compliance requirements for residential schemes
- Excellent communication skills and be able to drive a consultant team to deliver on programme
You must have the right to work in the UK and will be happy commuting to the office and sites in South London.
Job Offer
Salary between £55,000-£65,000 (depending on experience) + benefits including pension, healthcare, discretionary bonus, and 25 days annual leave.
