Electrical Construction Manager
A leading Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Manager for a new commercial project in Central London. This organisation delivers projects across multiple sectors, including Pharmaceutical, Data Centres, Healthcare, Education, Commercial, and Power Generation, with a presence in the UK, Ireland, and Europe.
The successful candidate will report to the Project Manager, joining a supportive and collaborative team committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Support the Project Manager in supervising on-site personnel.
- Lead by example, ensuring safety and quality standards are upheld.
- Take charge of on-site activities, implementing the site safety plan and rules.
- Ensure team members are trained and qualified to perform their tasks.
- Manage labour and material resources efficiently, including subcontractor hours.
- Monitor and track subcontractor progress, addressing performance issues.
- Maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors through clear communication.
- Oversee and ensure project specifications are met before installation.
- Implement the project quality plan, closing out snag lists promptly.
- Assist in project handovers and close-out activities in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Ensure all work aligns with project scope, and secure approval for changes or additional work.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Trade or degree qualification in an electrical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a construction management role within the electrical contracting industry.
- Previous experience in data centre construction projects.
- Strong leadership and people management skills to motivate teams and manage subcontractors.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the design and construction process.
