Ground Testing officer

GPS Recruitment are teamed up with the UK’s leading specialist in independent testing and system design within the ground gas ingress industry and want to make contact with Testing/Verification Officers ideally based in and around London.

As Testing Officer, the position will oversee multiple construction sites throughout the UK on a daily basis. With the position being a new appointment of a new division, there is potential to be an integral part of the team’s growth, development and progress.

You will be tasked with liaising with project managers, contractors, and ground-workers, conducting verification analysis reports which then forms the basis of site certification.

Our client operates throughout the UK from Leeds based HQ, with services extending across Europe.

Working remotely from a home base, you will visit different construction sites, both commercial and residential, to ensure each site adheres to legislation and collate compliance reports.

Full training and resources are on hand with the view to be truly successful in the role, key areas are:

• Converse with all levels of construction site staff including management.
• Implement training schemes
• Introduce quality assurance procedures
• Carry out independent third-party inspections, including photographing sites
• Develop a clear understanding at a technical level of all different testing disciplines, holiday testing, earth leakage detection testing, pressurised lap testing, and moisture testing.
• Interpret data and produce reports about a site’s compliance with legislation, with a view to achieving successful certification.

Relevant skills/ experience:

• Full clean driving license required
• Understanding of the construction industry (relevant degree or college course or from previous employment).
• Confident working remotely across the UK- Flexible attitude towards work
• Able to build and maintain relationships with all members of staff in the construction industry
• Valid CSCS card desirable, but not essential

The training as a Testing Officer is continuous, with scope to partake in recognised courses accredited with authorities (PCA, NVQ, CPD, Radon Council) to create a singular proven professional route within the industry.
