Project Director - Water InfrastructureLocation: West London with hybrid workingSalary: Competitive package

A senior leadership role is available for a Project Director to take charge of a major programme of works in the water sector. The role is based in West London with flexibility to work from home part of the week.

You'll lead the overall delivery strategy and direction for a multi-disciplinary team delivering complex infrastructure projects. This is a hands-on leadership role with full accountability for programme performance, client engagement and safe, efficient delivery.

The Role

  • Provide strategic leadership across a large programme of water infrastructure projects

  • Take responsibility for commercial, operational and safety performance

  • Lead senior project teams including Programme Managers, Design Leads and Delivery Managers

  • Maintain high-level engagement with the client, acting as the main point of contact

  • Monitor programme progress and manage key risks, resources and commercial matters

  • Ensure strong governance and reporting across all workstreams

  • Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement

  • Oversee resource planning and staff development across the programme

  • Ensure all delivery aligns with technical, environmental and regulatory standards

  • Resolve high-level challenges and provide senior support to project delivery teams

  • Promote collaborative working and maintain strong relationships with supply chain partners

  • Represent the business at senior stakeholder meetings and industry forums

What We're Looking For

  • Proven track record leading major infrastructure programmes, preferably in the utilities or water sector

  • Strong leadership credentials with experience managing senior teams across multiple disciplines

  • Degree-qualified in engineering, construction or related discipline

  • Commercially astute with experience managing budgets, forecasts and contracts

  • Excellent communicator with the confidence to represent the business at a senior level

  • Deep understanding of safety, quality and environmental standards in project delivery

  • Experience working in a regulated environment is preferred

  • Chartered status or equivalent professional recognition is desirable
