Role Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a chartered Project Manager to join our growing team based in London, with a particular focus on the Life Sciences sector.
Our highly motivated, sociable, and supportive team is looking for someone like-minded with a Building Surveying or Project Management background to join them to work on a range of projects within the sector, working for a diverse range of clients including investors, developers and occupiers. We would like to speak to individuals at all levels from Project Manager through to Associate Director level. Prior Science experiences is not strictly required, however, it is expected you will have a strong desire to learn more and work within the sector
Key Responsibilities
This role is to be actively involved in all stages of the project lifecycle and will be looked up to help lead on the delivery end of all projects.
- Preparation of fee proposals and pitching to existing and new clients.
- Involvement in the upfront project briefing stages, learn to understand a technical brief and aid in the recommendation for the right professional team.
- Support and advise clients in the strategic planning of projects, including providing advice on the overall approach, team, procurement routes, design management, project opportunities, key risks and mitigation.
- Programme creation and management.
- Delivery of the necessary documentation required for the delivery of the project, including producing minutes of meetings, project reports, financial reports and other associated documents.
- Contract administration (JCT suite of contracts). NEC experience would be merited.
- Collaboration with the professional team throughout all stages of the project including briefing, design, tender, construction and handover
- Oversee the delivery of fit-out and refurbishment projects at a strategic level to manage the professional team ensuring the client’s brief is delivered and that time, quality and cost parameters are met within this remit.
- Be focused on the client and ensure exceptional levels of client service.
- Develop strong relationships with colleagues and clients to seek opportunities and instructions.
Key Skills
- Has attained a vocational degree qualification and is MRICS qualified or equivalent.
- Other project management, engineering, design or cost management qualifications will also be considered.
- Track record working as project manager delivering successful projects.
- Experience within a science sector whether it be project management, R&D development, university study or previous employment.
- Ability to be a part of a pitch team and present project strategy and approach.
- Ability to support lead PMs from inception to completion whilst working across multiple project
- Be a trusted advisor to clients.
- Strong commercial awareness.
Team Overview
The London Office Project Management team is a fast-paced and friendly team of 20, consisting of 6 Directors, 4 Associate Directors, 1 Associate, 3 Senior Project Managers, 2 Graduates, 2 Apprentice’s and a Team Secretary split between our West End and City office locations. Within the team is a sub-team who have been focusing on landlord and tenant Science instructions for the last 5 years with an immediate requirement to hire and grow the team.
