Project Manager

London or Manchester (hybrid working model, 2 days a week office based, 3 days remote)

Competitive Salary plus performance related bonus

At the DCC, we believe in making Britain more connected, so we can all lead smarter, greener lives. That desire to make a difference is what drives us every day and it wouldn’t be possible without our people. Each person at the DCC brings a special kind of power to the business, and if you join us, we’ll give you the means to unleash yours. Here, we depend on each other and hold each other accountable. You have the power to challenge and make change, to take the initiative and enjoy real responsibility. Whether it’s doing purposeful work, helping us grow or building the career you want – we’ll give you the support to do it all.

Our secure network for smart meters is transforming Britain’s energy system and helping the country’s fight against climate change: we have an exciting opportunity you to be part of our journey as a Project Manager gaining exposure to high-profile projects, including working with the Treasury Green Book and Centres of Excellence and CV building opportunities through the projects you will be involved with and interaction with diverse senior audiences.

Within our Service Delivery Function, we follow Concept to Contract (C2C) which is a different approach to classical project management as it begins with a concept rather than a fully formed plan. It requires a self-starting mentality to transform ideas into structured, formal deliverables. Early stages are often ambiguous, with no fixed "menu" of tasks so we are looking for someone that will enjoy the challenge of piecing together these moving parts and develop clear, actionable outcomes.

You will enjoy varied day-to-day activities from managing large-scale programmes such as a £4billion initiative involving global IT providers to overseeing smaller projects like optimizing value for money in a £1million contract over 4 years. We want to hear from experienced project managers with strong stakeholder management skills who can persuade, influence and convince a wide range of stakeholders as well as having the resilience needed to manage conflicting viewpoints and difficult feedback.

Unlike traditional roles, there isn’t a defined project plan handed over. Instead, as a Project Manager, must be able to figure things out through conversation and dialog synthesizing different perspectives into a cohesive strategy before handing the project over to operations.

The DCC’s continued success depends on our people. It’s important to us that you enjoy coming to work, and feel healthy, happy and rewarded. In this role, you’ll have access to a range of benefits which you can choose from to create a personalised plan unique to your lifestyle.
