Randstad is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Design Manager to join a main contractor working on the HS2 project in West London. This is an opportunity to work on the UKs largest transportation infrastructure project, leading the design of complex and innovative infrastructure elements for this transformative project.

About the Role:

As Senior Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful design and delivery of crucial infrastructure elements for HS2. You will be a key leader on the project team, working with a team of engineers and designers, and overseeing all aspects of the design process from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Leadership: Provide strategic design leadership for complex infrastructure elements within the HS2 project, ensuring alignment with project objectives and design standards.
  • Design Development: Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to develop detailed design solutions that meet the demanding requirements of HS2, considering safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.
  • Contract Management: Manage design contracts, ensuring compliance with project specifications and timelines.
  • Technical Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of infrastructure design principles, building regulations, and industry best practices, particularly related to high-speed rail projects.
  • Budget and Schedule Management: Effectively manage design budgets and schedules, ensuring projects are delivered within constraints.
