Senior Planner - Construction & Engineering ProjectsLocation: Central LondonSalary: £60,000 - £90,000 per annumContract: Full-time, permanent

We're seeking an experienced and driven Senior Planner to lead project planning efforts across high-value construction and engineering projects in Central London. You'll play a key role in supporting complex operational delivery, ensuring successful project execution through detailed, efficient, and forward-thinking planning strategies.

The Role

As Senior Planner, you'll take ownership of planning across multiple project phases-from tender and design through to delivery and handover. You'll support operational teams, mentor junior planners, and provide critical guidance on sequencing, resource loading, and programme management. Your expertise will directly influence project success and commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed project programmes using Asta PowerProject (and P6 if applicable)

  • Identify scope, constraints, and contract requirements

  • Provide planning support across tender, design, procurement, and construction phases

  • Reconcile plant, labour, and material requirements with internal and subcontractor teams

  • Monitor progress, produce reports, and present key data to project leaders and stakeholders

  • Collaborate with operational leads to maintain alignment between project progress and programme expectations

  • Champion best practices in planning, drive continuous improvement, and record lessons learned

  • Lead and support junior planners within the team

  • Ensure planning strategies align with commercial and delivery objectives

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • 6-8 years of project planning experience in construction or building services

  • Strong knowledge of operational planning systems and project delivery cycles

  • Advanced user of Asta PowerProject; P6 experience desirable

  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Ability to manage and develop others (trainees/graduates)

  • Commercially aware, analytical, and solutions-focused

  • Highly organised and able to perform under pressure

Qualifications:

  • HNC or Degree in Construction or Building Services Engineering (preferred)

  • 5 GCSEs (C/5+) including Maths and English

  • Strong proficiency in planning and reporting tools
