Ashbys Consulting are working with a growing, ambitious, multi-discipline building consultancy who are looking to appoint a Technical CDM / Health & Safety Consultant. The company have offices in London, East Anglia, and Manchester, and deliver a variety of surveying, project management, and design services to the residential, commercial, and industrial project sectors.
The role can be performed largely remotely, but occasional travel between their offices, and to their sites will be required.
Duties include:

Processes - reviewing and advising on internal H&S processes to ensure compliance with current legislation and adapting to future changes;

Project work - advising the duty holders on compliance with the CDM2015 Regulations and other associated legislation;

Site Inspections - undertaking site inspections and preparing reports with proposed corrective actions;

Clients - supporting clients in advising on the suitability of their H&S management arrangements;

Technical - developing / enhancing the technical skills of consultants in the team by sharing your experiences and technical knowledge.
To be successful you will:

Hold or be working towards a higher education qualification in design, engineering, surveying or a construction related discipline;

Have demonstrable CDM project experience including the preparation of related document reporting;

Have an in depth working knowledge of the Building Safety Act;

Have experience of managing Health & Safety risk processes within the design and construction industry;

Have comprehensive working knowledge of UK CDM and Health and Safety Regulations / Legislation;

Have a general understanding of the Building Regulations;

Be able to work within multi-discipline environments;

Be able to manage your own time and resources;

Have demonstrable consultancy, communication and relationship management skills with experience of conducting workshops;

Have the ability to engage with key stakeholders to gain commitment and to influence the acceptance of new ideas and concepts in respect of change plans;

Have good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt your style to suit different audiences;

Have strong collaborative skills and be a pro-active and supportive member of the business unit team working alongside your colleagues to deliver best in class services.
