AA Euro Group are recruiting a Health & Safety Advosr for a leading M&E contractor working across the UK, Ireland and Europe.

This is a full time permenant position based on site in London. The project is a newbuild data centre and prior experience in the data centre or pharma space is desirable.

Role Overview:

The Health & Safety Advisor will be responsible for promoting and ensuring the highest standards of health and safety across a large-scale Data Centre project. This role involves implementing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and monitoring compliance with legal regulations and company standards. The Health & Safety Advisor will play a key role in maintaining a safe working environment for all site personnel and managing the overall safety culture on the project.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Health & Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of health and safety on-site, ensuring that safety procedures are consistently followed by both employees and subcontractors. Your role will include conducting regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, providing clear and actionable feedback, and ensuring that all identified risks are mitigated in line with best practices and regulations.

You will work closely with the project team to carry out risk assessments, ensure that method statements are followed, and that all personnel are properly trained and equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE). You will lead safety briefings and toolbox talks, promoting a proactive safety culture across the site.

In the event of incidents or near-misses, you will be responsible for conducting investigations, reporting findings to management, and ensuring that corrective actions are implemented promptly. Ensuring compliance with local health and safety legislation, and managing documentation such as accident reports and safety certificates, will also be key aspects of your role.

Key Requirements:

The ideal candidate should hold a degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related qualification, along with relevant certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH. You should have 3-5 years of experience working as a Health & Safety Advisor, ideally in construction or a mission-critical environment such as data centres.

A deep understanding of health and safety regulations, risk management, and incident investigation is essential. Strong communication skills are crucial, as you will be responsible for delivering training and ensuring that safety procedures are clearly understood and followed by all personnel on-site.

Experience with safety auditing tools and familiarity with reporting systems are important. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with site teams are key to succeeding in this role.
