We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety professional to join our Office Services team as Health & Safety Manager. This role will develop, manage, supervise, and coordinate related aspects of the department and organisation's Health and Safety (H&S) Management Systems, ensuring and monitoring compliance as well as all relevant legislation, while promoting Health and Safety across the organisation. The role will also manage the Reception team and the related front-of-house services. The HCPC is located in Kennington, this role will be office-based; with some opportunity for home working.

Main Duties & Key Responsibilities

  • Manage H&S policy and advise senior management
  • Implement ISO-aligned H&S systems and ensure compliance
  • Conduct audits, develop action plans, and investigate incidents
  • Facilitate risk assessments and deliver H&S training
  • Update policies and promote H&S culture organization-wide
  • Manage Reception Team and operations
  • Handle supplier evaluation and budgeting
  • Support Head of Department as needed

To be considered for this role, you should have the following qualifications and skills:

  • A bachelors degree or qualification(s) in occupational H&S or a relevant field.
  • A minimum of three years experience in managing and delivering H&S systems and projects in a similar organisation or industry.
  • A certification, accreditation or experience in one or more ISO standards =
  • A thorough knowledge of the legal, statutory and regulatory requirements for managing Health and Safety and compliance
  • A proven ability to conduct audits, inspections, generate reports and statistics, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to provide guidance and advice at various levels internally and with external stakeholders.
  • A proficiency in using Microsoft and industry related software applications, to record, manage and demonstrate progress.
  • A personal commitment to H&S, quality, excellence and culture.
  • Leadership and management skills, and the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • A flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic environment.
