Purpose of the Role:
The Senior Health & Safety Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children, families, employees, and visitors. Reporting to the Head of Health and Safety, you will lead the implementation of high-quality safety practices across the company, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. You will help foster a safety-first culture and influence policy and best practice across the organisation to achieve operational excellence and regulatory compliance, as well as managing a team of safety professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support on the development and drive health and safety strategy and action plans to align with business objectives
  • Manage the development of policies and procedures for safety across all areas, including safeguarding, occupational health, and facility management
  • Leading a diverse team of health and safety professionals across the business
  • Conduct regular audits, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions to improve safety standards
  • Provide advice and support on health and safety issues to all levels of staff
  • Maintain risk assessments, incident reports, and health and safety records
  • Collaborate with external bodies and ensure compliance with regulatory standards

Essential Experience:

  • NEBOSH Diploma/equivalent (Ideally CMIOSH)
  • Proven experience with leading teams / managing a national portfolio
  • Strong leadership and team development experience
  • In-depth knowledge of current health and safety legislation
