Responsibilities and duties

As the Contracts Manager you will:
  • Oversee and manage all contractual matters on the project, ensuring compliance with NEC, FIDIC, or other contract frameworks.
  • Identify and mitigate contractual risks, advising on potential legal and financial implications.
  • Lead the claims, variations, and change order processes, ensuring proper documentation and negotiation.
  • Provide strategic advice on contract interpretation, administration, and dispute resolution.
  • Work closely with project managers, planners, procurement teams, and legal advisors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Manage subcontractor and supplier agreements, ensuring contract compliance and performance.
  • Prepare and present contract reports, risk assessments, and commercial analysis to senior management.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and external stakeholders to resolve disputes and negotiate contract terms.
  • Monitor cost control and financial performance, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations.



Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Quality Surveying, Construction Management or similar
  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager in an EPC, construction, or infrastructure environment.
  • Strong background in water treatment, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, or similar contract frameworks.
  • Experience managing claims, disputes, and contract negotiations.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess risks and opportunities.
  • Chartered status (e.g., MRICS, MCIArb, or similar) is an advantage.
