The Role As Contract Manager – Fire Safety
You will take ownership of fire compartmentation projects, including fire door installation, repairs, passive fire protection, and suppression systems. The role offers a clear progression pathway to a senior leadership position as the division expands.
Key Responsibilities as the Contracts Manager:
- Project Delivery: Manage and oversee multiple fire safety projects, ensuring quality, compliance, and efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Support and manage Site Managers to ensure smooth project execution, compliance with regulations, and successful client relationships.
- Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure installations adhere to Building Regulations, fire safety legislation, and industry best practices.
- Client Management: Act as the main point of contact, maintaining proactive relationships with clients and their agents.
- Commercial Oversight:
- Prepare and manage subcontractor orders, valuations, and variations.
- Manage budgets and ensure projects are completed within financial targets.
- Improve project margins through value engineering and efficiency measures.
- Operational Growth: Identify opportunities for expansion within the fire safety division, helping to shape the future of the department.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Ensure accurate reporting, quality control, and H&S compliance.
- Submit Applications for Payment on time and track financial performance.
- Strategic Input: Work closely with senior management to develop and implement a long-term strategy for the fire safety division.
- Construction qualification (Level 3-6) preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within fire safety, compartmentation, or passive fire protection.
- Strong technical knowledge of fire safety regulations and compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Ambition to develop and grow a department, with a future leadership role in mind.
