A housing provider based in London is looking to appoint a Managing Agent Contract Manager on a temporary basis, with the potential for further opportunities depending on organisational needs. This is a key position for someone with strong experience in leasehold block management, particularly within or alongside private managing agents.
About the Role
The Managing Agent Contract Manager will act as a central point of contact for a portfolio of managing agents, ensuring service delivery meets contractual, legislative, and resident-focused standards. The role involves working collaboratively with superior landlords and their agents to safeguard the organisation’s interests and uphold the quality of service provided to residents.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have direct experience working for private managing agents, or substantial exposure to managing agent operations from within a housing association.
Key Skills and Requirements
- Leasehold Expertise: Strong working knowledge of leasehold block management and legislation, including the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, Commonhold & Leasehold Reform Acts, and relevant RICS/TPI guidance.
- Problem Solving: Proven ability to assess service charge reasonableness, identify risk, and support resolutions—potentially involving First Tier Tribunal engagement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with superior landlords, agents, and internal colleagues.
- Compliance-Focused: Ability to monitor and manage compliance across finance and health & safety within third-party managed properties.
- Communication & Organisation: Clear, confident communicator, able to interpret complex lease provisions and manage a busy and varied workload effectively.
