Service Care Legal are recruiting on behalf of a West London Borough Council whoa re seeking a Legal Officer to join their team on a contract basis. Please find below further details with regards to this position.

ROLE: Legal Officer (Planning and Property)LOCATION: West London / hybrid (1 day pw in the office)CONTRACT: 3 month with possibility ofRATE: £25.00 to £30.00 per hour (LTD)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare legal documents and advise on Right to Buy, Lease extensions, and property transactions.
  • To assist Homebuy and Property Compliance teams, ensuring the efficient delivery of council objectives.
  • Manage the creation and discharge of mortgages.
  • Assist with compulsory purchase orders and provide training to junior team members.
  • Ensure high-quality work and regular client communication.

Skills & Experience:

  • A law degree (LPC / LLM / LLB) or relevant working experience would be essential for this position
  • Case experience of Right to Buy, Lease extensions and property transactions would be essential
  • Previous experience of working at a local authority would also be essential for this position
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
